Residential moving is the work we do most. Two College Movers is a family-owned company based on East Mulberry in Fort Collins, licensed and insured — HHG-00422 / MC-887639, and we have been moving Northern Colorado households for over 13 years.

Licensed, Insured, and Easy to Check Up On

Anyone can call themselves a mover. The things worth checking before you hand over the contents of your house are whether they are licensed, whether they are insured, and whether you can find out who they actually are.

Our numbers are HHG-00422 and MC-887639, and they are on every page of this site for a reason — they are yours to verify. HHG is our Colorado household-goods authority; MC is our federal motor-carrier number for moves that cross a state line.

It matters more than it sounds. An unlicensed mover carries no obligation to you if something is damaged, and no insurer standing behind them if something goes badly wrong. Ask any mover you are considering for both numbers. If they hesitate, you have your answer.

What a Residential Move With Us Includes

We do as much or as little as you want. A full-service move looks like this:

  • Packing and unpacking — every room, or just the kitchen and the breakables. We bring the materials and we label as we go.
  • Furniture disassembly and reassembly — beds, dining tables, wall units, gym equipment.
  • Protection — pads, shrink wrap and floor runners. Doorframes and banisters get covered before anything heavy moves through them.
  • Specialty handling — pianos, gun safes, appliances, oversized and awkward items.
  • Loading, transport and unloading — placed where you want it, not stacked in the garage.

If you only need part of that, book only that part. Plenty of our residential jobs are packing the week before, or labour to load a truck you have already rented.

Apartments, Houses, and Everything In Between

Not every home moves the same way, and pretending otherwise is how moving days go long.

  • Apartments and walk-ups — stairs, lifts with booking windows, and loading zones that need planning rather than luck.
  • Family homes — three to five bedrooms, which is most of what we do. These need a crew that plans the day rather than improvises it.
  • Downsizing and senior moves — slower, more decisions, more care. We are not in a hurry and we do not make you feel rushed.
  • Older properties — narrow staircases, tight driveways and mature trees that will not take a twenty-six-foot truck. We would rather shuttle than wedge.

Where We Move Homes

We are based in Fort Collins and most of our residential work sits within about forty minutes of it:

Moving out of the region entirely? That is our long-distance service — same crews, one point of contact from your door to the new one.

What It Costs, and Why You Will Not Be Surprised

The quote is the quote. We go through what the move actually involves before we give you a number — how much there is, what the access is like at both ends, whether there are stairs, whether anything needs special handling. The figure you agree to is the figure you pay.

What catches people out elsewhere is the things nobody asked about: a long carry from the door to the truck, a lift that needs booking, a second trip because the first estimate was a guess. We would rather ask the awkward questions up front than hand you a bigger invoice at the end.

And you will be able to reach us. You will know who is coming, roughly when, and who to call if something changes.
